Why Hypnobabies?
Most Hypnobabies moms use fewer drugs or no drugs, which means less risk of side effects for them or their babies. This is due to elimination of the Fear/Tension/Pain Syndrome, and using post-hypnotic suggestions.
- The deep relaxation enjoyed during Hypnobabies sessions has also helped many a nervous birth partner to enjoy their partner’s pregnancy and childbirth. The relaxation and hypnosis skills that Hypnobabies students learn will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
- Hypnobabies moms are easily “deprogrammed” from the usual negativity of childbirth stories and scenarios they may have heard or read. Hypnosis training in Hypnobabies classes and audio tracks which have positive messages and hypnotic suggestions help to eliminate such fears.
- Doing Hypnobabies automatically allows you to have a much more positive attitude and confidence about birthing.
- It is truly a gift that you are giving yourself, an amazingly easy way to enjoy your pregnancy and being able to look forward to your baby’s comfortable birth!
What about Childbirth Hypnosis Classes?
Birth Partners also have a integral role in the preparation process: listening to their own script on CD, reading the handouts and guiding the mother into deep relaxation with hypnosis scripts. Birth Partners are an invaluable part of the birth process since they help the mother to focus and concentrate on their birth hypnosis tools, as well offering emotional and physical support.
For a birth hypnosis program to be completely effective, other aspects of preparation for childbirth need to be covered in classes as well, topics such as: Nutrition, Exercise, Staying Low Risk, Fear Clearing Sessions, Routine Medical Procedures and the Risks and Benefits of Each, Birth Plans and a Hands-On, Birth Rehearsal Practice Session.
Fear, Expectation and Language Impact Childbirth Outcomes
In our culture, expectations about childbirth are very much the opposite. For many generations we have been told that delivering a baby will be untold hours of painful, agonizing work, to be faced with fear and trepidation. We have all heard stories from well meaning friends and family that sent shivers up our spines, and so the legacy continues. We experience pain in childbirth, in part, because we very much expect to!
In Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis classes, the expectant woman is taught to surround herself with only encouraging people and messages, to create a positive new view of childbirth and the expectation that her birthing will be a beautiful, peaceful experience. Fear clearing sessions are integral to this process, as they allow the mother to address fears, work through possible solutions and then release them.
